sporting days are here again!!!

the sporting days are ahead...

unfortunately, in india it is the non-sporting events that make the news... check out all the channels and it's sharad 'misuse of' pawar who's grabbing all the headlines because of IPL bidding by MD of the organisation in which he has a majority stake. mr pawar says that he shouldn't be held responsible as the md made the move in his individual capacity. God knows the truth and the lies.

the story thats doing round is BBCI's inability to send the cricket teams to Asian Games in China later this year. the BCCI team (which is not the Indian team even though it carries the national flag) will be playing New Zealand. the women's team will probably be doing household chores and not playing. i feel bad and sad. should we allow BCCI to carry the Indian flag? it is time the government decided on a few things. i don't say that sending a team will definitely ensure a gold medal for us...as our current performances of the guys go. the ladies will definitely win...sure to be in finals. the question is if we can send a 2nd rung team to zimbabwe and lose and even pay them, why not send the B team to the Asiad. at the end in the Olympic movement, it is not about winning... but participating. moreover, being a T20 tournament, we should. else what good does an IPL serve.
Yuvi has gone on record to state that BCCI has done the right by deciding against Asian Games. this makes it more important for the Government of India to take a stand and force the BCCI to send a team. if Leander Paes can give his life for the last 2 decades for the pride of India, why can't others.

incidentally, leander will be playing the doubles final of French Open later. wish him all the Best!

i am waiting for the big boys though...Brazil, Brazil... don't know why but i have loved yellow, green and blue. even in our Rathayatra triumph in 1990, we wore yellow, green and blue. i will root for Kaka, Robinho. waiting for 11th...
